The 2018 American Music Awards are hours away_ where most of the people around the world will be busy, some attending, others watching live on their TV channel of ABC, others watching live stream on their smart phones/tablets (IOs or Androids).

The American Music Awards (AMAs)is an annual American music awards show, created by Dick Clark in 1973. This year the AMAs 2018 will be hosted by Tracee Elis Ross who is known as an actress, model, comedian, director and television host. This show will be broadcasted live from the Microsoft Theater on ABC (television and radio). The AMAs is produced by Dick Clark Productions.

The nominees have been announced and their sectors of competition like, the Artist of the year, New artist of the year, collaboration of the year, video of the year, tour of the year, favorite social artist, favorite sound track, favorite male Artist-Pop/Rock, favorite female Artist-Pop/Rock, to mention but a few. Whereas, some nominated artists are: Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Drake, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Demi Lovato and so many more. According to Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, Drake and Cardi B are the most leading in nominations of AMAs 2018 where each has eight total nods. The AMAs nominees are based on fan’s interactions, streaming, album and digital song sales, radio airplay, social activity and touring. And these measurements are tracked down by Billboard and its data partners like, Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.

As any other show, the AMAs will have different talented artists to perform and so far they have announced these artists such as: Carrie Underwood, Post Malone ft. Ty Dolla $ign, Mariah Carey, Benny Blanco with Halsey and Khalid, Cardi B with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, Dua Lipa, “Panic!”. At The Disco, Ciara with Missy Elliott and Taylor Swift who will open the AMAs 2018 with the song “I Did Something Bad”. The American Music Awards will also honor the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. According to Dick Clark Productions, Gladys Knight, Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans and musical director Rickey Minor will pay tribute to Aretha Franklin’s gospel roots and iconic gospel album.

“when I heard some of the initial ideas for the tribute, I knew without a doubt that this tribute will go down as one of the best American music” said Sabrina Owens, Franklin’s niece and the executor of her estate.
